Timothy has a diverse practice that spans all areas of civil / commercial litigation and arbitration, with a keen interest in medical negligence / misconduct and intellectual property disputes. He frequently handles construction and employment disputes, and strongly supports the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

His experience includes the following notable cases:

  • Defending a Singapore developer against a condominium MCST’s claim alleging defective construction. Major portions of the claim were struck out, leading the MCST to discontinue proceedings.
  • Acting for an SME and its director accused of misusing a competitor’s confidential information. The matter, involving the law of confidence, proceeded to the Court of Appeal where the scope of the claim was reduced. Amber Compounding Pharmacy Pte Ltd and another v Lim Suk Ling Priscilla and others [2023] SGHC 241 and Lim Suk Ling Priscilla & another v Amber Compounding Pharmacy Pte Ltd & another [2024] 1 SLR 741.
  • Representing a Singapore lawyer in disciplinary proceedings arising from a complaint made by the AGC, where the Law Society sought to have the lawyer struck off. The application was successfully resisted. The Law Society of Singapore v Mohammed Lutfi Bin Hussin [2021] SGDT 6 and Law Society of Singapore v Mohammed Lutfi bin Hussin [2023] 3 SLR 509.
  • Assisting a shareholder in winding up a company involved in the global trade of used cooking oil after a breakdown in shareholder relations. The matter involved application of IRDA 2018 provisions. Teunis Eigenraam v Ngng Pte Ltd [2023] 3 SLR 310.
  • Representing a Singaporean entrepreneur involved in a joint venture in Perth, Western Australia, against an investor seeking to recover investments following the economic downturn post-Covid-19.
  • Defending a legally aided client alleged to have guaranteed a high-value cryptocurrency transaction that failed, eventually having the case discontinued.
  • Assisting a company in the bunker oil trade to resist winding-up proceedings initiated by a vessel charterer.

Outside legal practice, Timothy engages in various interests including motorcycle riding (Yamaha R15 V3), computer building, programming, skydiving, specialty coffee brewing, and performing magic.

Timothy is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law and the Law Society of Singapore, and is also a pro-bono volunteer with the Catholic Lawyers Guild.
